How to Eat Cucumbers to Lose Weight
Most people looking for an effective and sustainable way to lose weight simply need to combine a healthy diet with a moderate amount of exercise. cucumbers will help to fill you up without adding a substantial amount of calories to your diet.
Step 1
Follow the USDA's MyPlate guidelines and incorporate cucumbers as part of your healthy diet. MyPlate guidelines state that roughly half of your plate at any given meal should be filled with fruits or vegetables. Eating in this way will help you to lose weight.
The amount you should eat varies according to your age, gender and activity levels, but on average, adult males under 50 should eat 3 cups of vegetables each day and adult women under 50 should eat 2 1/2 cups of vegetables per day, with those over 50 eating 1/2 a cup less.
While eating cucumbers is healthy, you should eat a range of different vegetables, including leafy greens, beans and peas, red or orange vegetables, and starchy vegetables.
Step 2
Reach for the cucumber when you want a snack. A whole cup of sliced cucumber contains just 13 calories, making it ideal to munch on between meals. Eat it alone or with a low-fat dip, such as salsa.
Step 3
Slice up cucumbers to use as a low-calorie component in a salad. It will add extra bulk, without significantly increasing the fat or calorie content, which may stop you from overeating. Use a low-fat dressing or season your salad with herbs and spices.
Step 4
Cook with cucumbers, by adding them to soups, stews or stir fries. These kinds of dishes are ideal for getting a large amount of vegetables in one meal. Since it's mild tasting, cucumber doesn't seem out of place in most dishes, as it will easily pick up the dominant flavors of whatever you're cooking. Substitute cucumber for an ingredient that's higher in calories and fat.

Body Scrub Combine coconut oil and sugar
How to Use a Sugar Scrub

A sugar scrub is used to help smooth out rough skin. Essentially, the sugar granules act as the scrubbing or exfoliating mechanism. To use it, simply massage the sugar scrub in small circular movements over rough patches of skin, such as on your elbows, knees or feet.
Using a sugar scrub on your face is generally not recommended.
It's easiest to use your sugar scrub in the shower, so you can easily rinse it off when you are done.
This sugar scrub is so simple, easy and low-cost, that I often make extra jars to giveaway as gifts.
Ingredients
2 cups cane sugar
1 cup kosher salt
½ cup coconut oil, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon almond extract
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
You'll be amazed at how easy it is to make this natural homemade sugar scrub.
Method
+Mix ingredients together one at a time in a large bowl. If needed, add more dry or liquid ingredients to get the consistency you desire.
The coconut, vanilla and almond give this sugar scrub a sweet scent, but you may add your own essential oils if you wish.
Fill a pint-sized jar with the sugar scrub and seal with lid.
Sugar Scrub Recipe
Homemade sugar scrub with natural sugars and oils is great for exfoliating skin naturally.
Ingredients
½ cup sugar (white sugar or brown sugar)
¼ cup oil (olive or coconut are great)
Optional: essential oils
Method
Mix all ingredients and store in an air tight jar.
Use 1 tablespoon as needed in the shower. Scrub skin with the mixture and rinse will. it will leave your skin feeling like silk.
coconut oil Lotion Recipe
Ingredients

½ cup almond or olive oil (can infuse with herbs first if desired)
¼ cup coconut oil
¼ cup beeswax
Optional: 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
Optional: 2 tablespoons Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
Optional: Essential Oils, Vanilla Extract or other natural extracts to suit your preference

Method
+Combine ingredients in a pint sized or larger glass jar. I have a mason jar that I keep just for making lotions and lotion bars, or you can even reuse a glass jar from pickles, olives or other foods.
+Fill a medium saucepan with a couple inches of water and place over medium heat.
+Put a lid on the jar loosely and place in the pan with the water.
+As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt. Shake or stir occasionally to incorporate. When all ingredients are completely melted, pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage. Small mason jars (8 ounce) are great for this. It will not pump well in a lotion pump!
+Use as you would regular lotion. This has a longer shelf life than some homemade lotion recipes since all ingredients are already shelf stable and not water is added. Use within 6 months for best moisturizing benefits.
Notes
A little goes a long way! This lotion is incredibly nourishing and is also great for diaper rash on baby, for eczema and for preventing stretch marks

Using Coconut Oil in Other Ways
+A small amount of this oil goes a long way. Be careful not to use too much
+You may not wish to microwave coconut oil; it might leach out the nutrients that help with conditioning. Place under a stream of hot water instead.
+Coconut oil can also be mixed with sugar to create a natural scrub for normal to dry skin.
+Coconut oil is around 90 percent effective at getting rid of lice when rubbed into the scalp
+Coconut oil makes the hair healthier and can help it grow faster when you apply it more.
+If you color your hair at home, coconut oil can be used to help reduce the damage from the chemicals by adding moisture. Apply a couple drops in your dye bottle and mix it well before using.
+Do not leave the oil for more than a day without washing it. It will make your hair smell bad and become greasy.
+Add with Alma/Indian Gooseberry powder to keep melanin in the hair follicles. This is said to prevent gray hair.
+Coconut oil is great to use as a lotion/moisturizer on sensitive skin, because it's 100% natural and shouldn't cause breakouts (unless you're allergic).
+Apply sparingly onto legs after shaving for a moisturized shine/glow.

Warnings
Always check with a physician or medical professional prior to initiating a new dietary regimen or devising a weight-loss plan.
